Season Review - Under 10s
We have had a great season this year at under 10s in the last year of 7 a-side Mini Soccer Rules which provides a good training ground for youngsters to learn the game and develop.
The boys have been willing, eager and ready to improve their skills whilst always appearing to be content and having fun.
Summer is fast approaching and we have already entered numerous tournaments around and about. Then, we need to knuckle down to the real work and get some friendlies in to prepare us further for 11s.
I thank everyone for your help and support especially Andy and Dave for their input at training.
As our results below show we had a fantastic improvement from under 9s with no less than 9 wins, 3 draws and a few losses that should have been wins if it wasn't for a bit of 'constructive refereeing'! we know who we mean! New players joined in readiness for September and have fitted in well with existing long term squad members.

We had some excellent matches where we all worked hard, the closest where we excelled against Woolwell after two very exciting and entertaining matches. The sausage and bacon sarnies have been a great addition to match days so thanks Sonia, more please for next season.
Thanks also for your patience when numbers were increased in preparation for the move to under 11s, believe me it wasn't always easy trying to make the right chooses for us all but I can only do what I feel is right at the time and to the best of my ability.
It isn't easy trying to please everyone, in fact it is impossible as we all have a different opinion and view point. I am trying to look for the team as a whole and find a balance...
11 a side should, in theory, make life easier but team selection will still be hard and I will have difficult chooses to make. My starting line up will be what I believe to be in the best interests of the team and the opposition we are facing when the new league make up is announced around August time.
There is a line in the NOMENCLATURE AND CONSTITUTION of the DJM Rules that states:
(E) Every Club shall play its best available qualified team or teams in all matches in the Competition.
I guarantee the teams we come up against will want to win, league position and 3 points a game is important so we must remain competitive whilst trying to stay with making football fun.
